The Shades collection rethinks this series through colour. Inspired by the tones of the ocean, the shore and the sky, its dials set aside the Aqua Terra’s familiar teak pattern to bring colour itself to the fore. Measuring 38 mm in diameter and 12.26 mm in thickness, the polished 316L stainless steel case sits slim and balanced on the wrist, thanks to its symmetrical form, symmetrical crown and compact proportions. Beneath a domed sapphire crystal glareproofed on both sides, the brass dial is sun-brushed from the centre and lacquered, giving the blue a vivid radiance that deepens and lightens with the angle of the light. Rhodium-plated hands, rhodium-plated indexes filled with white Super-LumiNova and a date window at 6 o’clock bring clear legibility to this pure composition.

Through the wave-edged transparent caseback, Omega’s automatic calibre 8800 is on display, featuring a Co-Axial escapement and a silicon balance spring. Rhodium-plated and decorated with Geneva waves in arabesque, the movement is certified as a Master Chronometer by METAS, the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology.
