The Breitling Chronomat B01 42 reinterprets the legendary chronograph born in 1984 for the Italian aerobatic team Frecce Tricolori with the brand’s flagship manufacture calibre, the B01. With its 42 mm stainless steel case, deep blue dial and iconic Rouleaux bracelet, it unites the powerful character of a sporting chronograph with refined luxury. Since it was designed in 1984 for the Frecce Tricolori, the aerobatic team of the Italian Air Force, the Breitling Chronomat has stood as one of the brand’s most powerful symbols. The Chronomat B01 42 reinterprets this legendary heritage through today’s vision of the versatile luxury sports watch. Measuring 42 mm in diameter, the stainless steel case is crowned by a unidirectional rotating bezel with four raised rider tabs, a Chronomat signature. Beneath a cambered sapphire crystal glareproofed on both sides, the deep blue dial features 30-minute and 12-hour counters alongside a small-seconds display, forming a balanced composition.
At the heart of the watch beats Breitling’s flagship manufacture calibre, the B01. A column-wheel chronograph movement and COSC-certified chronometer, it is fitted with 47 jewels and operates at 28,800 vibrations per hour. Its power reserve of approximately 70 hours keeps the watch running without pause even if it is taken off for a few days. The movement can be admired in every detail through the screw-down sapphire caseback.
Inspired by the iconic Chronomat of the 1980s, the Rouleaux bracelet, with its rounded links, gives the watch both a comfortable fit on the wrist and a distinctive appearance. A screw-locked crown and water resistance to 200 metres guarantee the watch’s durability. It is a timepiece in which every detail rests on a decision, and every second on a legacy.
