The Omega Speedmaster ‘57 returns to where the legend began: the elegant design of the very first Speedmaster in 1957. On the blue dial, historic “Broad Arrow” hands and rhodium-plated indexes bring the spirit of the original model back to life with modern clarity. The brushed steel bezel and black tachymeter scale complete the iconic silhouette. The 40.5 mm stainless steel case and steel bracelet with comfort adjustment make the watch suited to every day. The column-wheel, manual-winding Master Chronometer calibre 9906 offers a 60-hour power reserve, a date and a time-zone function.

The Speedmaster was born in 1957 as a chronograph designed for racetracks and the world of science. It soon became a symbol of space exploration and, according to Omega, took part in all six crewed lunar missions. The Speedmaster ‘57 pays tribute to the starting point of this journey. It unites the original model’s symmetrical case, steel bezel and Broad Arrow hands with the highest standards of contemporary watchmaking.
Measuring 40.5 mm in diameter and 12.99 mm in thickness, the 316L stainless steel case carries the Speedmaster ‘57’s elegant and balanced proportions. On the brushed steel bezel, a blackened tachymeter scale allows speed measurement. Beneath a sapphire crystal glareproofed on both sides, the blue dial features rhodium-plated hour markers. The historic Broad Arrow hands, filled with white Super-LumiNova, are the dial’s most characteristic detail. Small seconds sit at 9 o’clock, while a subdial at 3 o’clock combines the 12-hour and 60-minute chronograph recorders. A date window at 6 o’clock completes the symmetrical layout.
Through the sapphire caseback engraved with “Speedmaster ‘57”, Omega’s manual-winding chronograph calibre 9906 with column wheel and Co-Axial escapement is on display. Equipped with a silicon balance spring and two barrels mounted in series, the movement operates at a frequency of 4 Hz and offers a 60-hour power reserve. Its Master Chronometer certification by METAS, the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology, also covers magnetic resistance up to 15,000 gauss. The time-zone function, which allows the hour hand to be adjusted independently when travelling, adds ease of use. With its foldover clasp featuring Omega’s patented comfort adjustment system, the steel bracelet gives the watch a refined and comfortable presence on the wrist. It is a timepiece in which every detail rests on a decision, and every second on a legacy.
