The Breitling Superocean Heritage B31 Automatic 42 carries the brand’s legendary dive watches, born in 1957, into the present with Breitling’s new-generation manufacture calibre, the B31. With its 42 mm stainless steel case, ceramic-inlaid bezel and deep black dial, it interprets the pure character of a dive watch with elegant simplicity. With a power reserve of approximately 78 hours, the automatic B31 calibre continues to run without pause even when taken off for the weekend. The Breitling Superocean Heritage is a contemporary interpretation of the Ref. 1004 and Ref. 807, which the brand designed for professional divers in 1957. The Superocean Heritage B31 Automatic 42 unites this deep-rooted heritage with the B31, the new-generation manufacture calibre introduced by Breitling in 2025. Measuring 42 mm in diameter and 12.03 mm in thickness, the stainless steel case is crowned by a ceramic-inlaid, unidirectional ratcheted bezel; the ceramic ring provides scratch resistance while lending the watch a lustrous depth.
On the deep black dial beneath a cambered sapphire crystal glareproofed on both sides, the arrow-shaped hour hand and spear-shaped minute hand inherited from the original 1957 models reflect the Superocean Heritage’s characteristic identity. The date window at 6 o’clock completes the dial’s symmetry. At the heart of the watch beats Breitling’s automatic manufacture calibre, the B31. Operating at 28,800 vibrations per hour, the movement offers a power reserve of approximately 78 hours and can be admired through the screw-down sapphire caseback.
Inspired by Breitling’s historic mesh bracelets, the stainless steel bracelet and folding clasp complete the watch’s sporting elegance with comfortable wear on the wrist.
