The Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional is the purest and most familiar form of the watch that reached the Moon in 1969. This version keeps the spirit of the original mission alive most faithfully. The Hesalite crystal with the Omega logo at its centre, the black step dial and the caseback with seahorse medallion are the marks of this fidelity. The aluminium bezel with its tachymeter scale pays tribute to the historic model with the “dot over 90” detail. The 42 mm asymmetrical steel case is completed by a brushed steel bracelet with five arched links per row. The manual-winding Master Chronometer calibre 3861 carries the legend into the present day with a 50-hour power reserve and Co-Axial precision.

The Speedmaster was born in 1957. It passed NASA’s most demanding tests to become the official watch of the space programme and reached the Moon with Apollo 11 in 1969. This historic journey earned it the name “Moonwatch”. With its Hesalite crystal and steel bracelet, this version is today’s most classic interpretation of that legendary watch. It preserves the character of the watch that went to the Moon while offering the robustness and comfort of a steel bracelet for everyday wear.
Measuring 42 mm in diameter and 13.54 mm in thickness, the asymmetrical 316L stainless steel case carries the Speedmaster’s world-renowned silhouette. The anodised aluminium bezel features a tachymeter scale and the “dot over 90” detail well known to collectors. Beneath the Hesalite crystal with the Omega logo at its centre lies the black step dial. Three subdials for small seconds, the 30-minute recorder and the 12-hour recorder maintain the Speedmaster’s symmetrical and legible layout. The caseback bears an embossed Omega seahorse medallion.
At the heart of the watch beats Omega’s manual-winding chronograph calibre 3861. Featuring a Co-Axial escapement, the movement is certified as a Master Chronometer by METAS, the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology. The calibre offers a 50-hour power reserve and magnetic resistance up to 15,000 gauss. Winding the watch by hand each morning becomes a ritual that lets you relive the experience of the astronauts who travelled to the Moon. The brushed steel bracelet with five arched links per row sits fluidly and securely on the wrist with its foldover clasp featuring a comfort setting.
