Tellurium Tourbillon Brass
Ref.: 23069-740352
The Hermle Tellurium Tourbillon brings the rhythm of the heavens to your desk. Beneath its glass dome, a brass tellurium re-enacts the Earth’s annual journey around the Sun, its daily rotation and the phases of the Moon. A gold-plated tourbillon cage counteracts the effect of gravity on the movement. With an 8-day running time, a Westminster chime on four gongs and an 11-jewel Swiss escapement, it is a refined expression of German clockmaking.
Weekday orders placed before 13:00 are dispatched the same day.
Crafting clocks in Germany since 1922, Hermle unites two great horological traditions in the Tellurium Tourbillon: the tellurium, which reveals the mechanics of the heavens, and the tourbillon, the emblem of precision. Beneath the glass dome, brass Sun and Earth globes move upon an intricate arrangement of gears. The mechanism traces the Earth’s annual orbit around the Sun, its daily rotation and the Moon’s cycle of roughly 29.5 days. Zodiac figures on an openwork rosette and a calendar dial showing months and days complete this celestial tableau.
At its heart lies a newly developed, gold-plated tourbillon, described by Hermle as a world first. Rotating continuously within its cage, it is designed to counteract the effect of gravity on the movement. The brass movement, with polished plates, runs on an 11-jewel Swiss escapement and features a Power-Flow seconds hand.
Running for eight days on a single winding, the clock announces every quarter hour with the Westminster melody on four polished gongs. An automatic night shut-off silences the chime during the night, allowing it to blend gracefully into any living space. Made in Germany, the Tellurium Tourbillon is a collector’s piece that lends character to a study or a living room.
