The Omega Constellation Observatory reinterprets the brand’s heritage of precision through a pure and powerful design. Inspired by the first Constellation of 1952, the black ceramic “Pie-Pan” dial catches the light elegantly with its twelve faceted surfaces. Diamond-polished 18K white gold dauphine hands, kite-shaped indexes and an applied Constellation star complete the composition. Its pure layout of hour and minute hands alone takes the watch back to the essence of classic watchmaking. Completed by a 39.4 mm O-MEGASTEEL case and black alligator leather strap, the watch beats with calibre 8914, certified as a Master Chronometer by METAS. According to Omega, it is the first two-hand watch tested by the independent Laboratoire de Précision.

Since its birth in 1952, the Constellation has been the symbol of Omega’s commitment to precision. The collection’s name and identity are closely linked to the brand’s successes in chronometry competitions. The Constellation Observatory revisits this heritage to today’s highest standards. Stripped of every superfluous element, such as a seconds hand or date window, the watch displays time in its purest form with only its hour and minute hands. This pure structure is backed by exceptional precision. According to Omega, the Constellation Observatory is the first two-hand watch tested by the independent certification body Laboratoire de Précision, through 25 days of continuous measurement.
Measuring 39.4 mm in diameter and 12.23 mm in thickness, the polished and brushed case is crafted from O-MEGASTEEL, a steel alloy exclusive to Omega. A sharply faceted bezel and faceted “dog-leg” lugs give the case an architectural character. Beneath a domed, bevelled sapphire crystal glareproofed on both sides lies the black ceramic “Pie-Pan” dial. With its polished centre and twelve faceted, sloping surfaces, the dial pays direct tribute to the design of the first Constellation. Diamond-polished kite-shaped indexes, diamond-polished 18K white gold dauphine hands and an applied Constellation star create a bright, crisp contrast against the black ground.
Through the sapphire caseback, Omega’s automatic calibre 8914 is on display, featuring a Co-Axial escapement and a silicon balance spring. Its rhodium-plated skeletonised rotor bears a laser-engraved Constellation Observatory medallion. Certified as a Master Chronometer by METAS, the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology, the movement offers a 60-hour power reserve and magnetic resistance up to 15,000 gauss. Thanks to the time-zone function, the hour hand can be adjusted independently when travelling. The black alligator leather strap and polished stainless steel pin buckle complete the watch’s classic elegance. It is a timepiece in which every detail rests on a decision, and every second on a legacy.
