Its skeletonised two-layer dial, rhodium-plated plates and gold-plated gear train reveal every nuance of the movement within. Running for a full month on a single winding, this precision regulator achieves a deviation of just 1 to 5 seconds per month, thanks to its temperature-compensated Invar pendulum and Graham escapement with ruby pallets.

Crafting clocks in Germany’s Black Forest region since 1922, Hermle brings the frontiers of mechanical precision to the wall with the Masterpiece. Produced in an edition of only 25 individually numbered pieces, this limited series presents horology in its purest form behind a frameless glass door. The skeletonised two-layer dial creates a striking sense of depth and offers a direct view of the escapement’s rhythm. A guilloché-decorated, hand-painted moon-phase disc completes the composition.
At its heart lies a mechanical movement that runs for a full month on a single winding. Rhodium-plated plates and a gold-plated gear train are enriched with polished and cut finishes. A Graham escapement with high-quality ruby pallets and a gold-plated escape wheel works in concert with a temperature-compensated pendulum. Its disc, weighing more than 4 kg, is mounted on a hand-polished Invar rod, while an arc-minute scale read through a ruby tip makes its precision visible. Driven by a tungsten weight, the clock deviates by just 1 to 5 seconds per month. Its moon-phase display is stated to deviate by only one day in 100 years.
The Masterpiece is delivered with a dedicated wooden box housing its winding key and accessories. Made in Germany, it is far more than a wall clock: it is a collector’s timepiece, created to be passed down through generations.
