Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional

The Speedmaster was born in 1957 and, after passing NASA’s tests, became the official watch of the space programme. When it reached the Moon with Apollo 11 in 1969, it earned the name “Moonwatch”. This white-dial version offers a luminous alternative to the legend’s face, so closely associated with black. Inspired by the brightness of the lunar surface, the white lacquered ground unites the Moonwatch’s technical heritage with refined, contemporary elegance.

Measuring 42 mm in diameter and 13.18 mm in thickness, the asymmetrical stainless steel case preserves the Speedmaster’s world-renowned silhouette. The black anodised aluminium bezel, with its tachymeter scale and “dot over 90” detail, draws a graphic frame around the white dial. Beneath a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment on the inside lies the white lacquered step dial. The applied Omega logo and indexes add depth to the dial, while Moonwatch-style hands ensure crisp legibility against the white ground. Three subdials for small seconds, the 30-minute recorder and the 12-hour recorder maintain the Speedmaster’s symmetrical layout.

Through the transparent sapphire caseback, Omega’s manual-winding chronograph calibre 3861 is on display. The rhodium-plated movement is equipped with a Co-Axial escapement, a silicon balance spring and a free-sprung balance. The calibre is certified as a Master Chronometer by METAS, the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology, and offers a 50-hour power reserve and magnetic resistance up to 15,000 gauss. The polished and brushed steel bracelet, with its foldover clasp featuring a comfort setting, ensures comfortable and balanced wear on the wrist.
